Rhode’s cream blush nails that dewy, just-pinched flush with a lightweight, balmy texture that melts seamlessly into skin. It’s ultra-blendable, never streaky, and gives cheeks that fresh, hydrated sheen without feeling greasy. It makes for the most perfect effortless, no-makeup makeup look.
The MERIT Flush Balm Cream Blush gives you that soft, just‑flushed look with a lightweight, buildable satin‑balm formula that melts into skin for a natural, lit‑from‑within glow. Its easy to blend dome shape makes application effortless (no brush needed), and the sheer, skin‑like colors enhance your complexion without feeling heavy or cakey. It is ideal for minimalist makeup days or a polished everyday look.
Chances are you’ve seen this blush everywhere. It’s a celeb-favorite (Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson are big fans) and a staple in makeup artist’s kits. The buildable formula makes it possible to go from a soft, sheer wash of color to a statement cheek in seconds. Minnette, a pinky-coral, is my personal favorite shade, but if you’re in the mood for something deeper (Lerma says it’s going to be trending for fall) give Bichette, a deep red, a try.
The Morphe Huephoric Rush 3‑in‑1 Silk Blush delivers a smooth, light matte flush you can wear everyday or layer for more color payoff. Its silky formula primes, hydrates, and blurs on contact, making it ultra‑blendable and easy to build without looking patchy. Perfect for customizing your look from subtle to statement.
Selena Gomez not only has one of the best liquid blushes out there (lookin’ at you, Soft Pinch), but she also dropped an award-worthy cream formula. Just like the name suggests, this blush quite literally melts on for a second-skin finish. It's a great option for anyone who runs on the oily side because while it still has the radiance-boosting effect we’ve come to expect from cream formulas, it’s not too glowy. The finish runs more on the satin side.
If you like to use a brush, but want to keep your makeup bag slim, allow us to direct your attention to Makeup by Mario. This product features a creamy, radiant blush on one end and a dense, blending and buffing brush on the other. It genuinely makes the application process easy as can be. All the shades in the range are gorgeous, but my personal favorite is Raspberry. It might look intimidatingly bright, but it gives the most gorgeous pop once it’s on the skin.
The Cheeky Posh Cream Blush Stick by Victoria Beckham Beauty delivers a buildable, weightless wash of color with a naturally dewy finish that melts into skin for all‑day wear. Its botanical‑enhanced cream to velvet formula blends effortlessly for subtle or bold cheeks, while moisture‑rich ingredients like blue lotus wax and jojoba esters keep skin soft and hydrated making it feel as chic as it looks.
Summer Fridays’ Blush Butter Balm is all about that soft, diffused glow. Think sheer color meets next-level hydration. The buttery formula melts seamlessly into skin, delivering a dewy, second-skin finish that never looks streaky or overdone. Infused with ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and a trio of nourishing butters, it doubles as skincare, leaving cheeks plump, smooth, and radiant.
Is cream blush better than powder blush?
Not exactly—both have their perks, and the magic is often in using them together. Lila Childs explains, “Cream formulas dominate most routines right now, but powder blush is still key for longevity and tying a look together.” Cade Pearlman agrees, adding, “I think both go hand-in-hand. It’s about moderation—using cream and powder together creates a seamless, long-lasting finish.”
The takeaway: cream gives a hydrated, dewy finish, while powder locks in color and ensures staying power. Layering a bit of each can create a natural, lit-from-within glow that lasts all day.
Is cream blush better for dry or oily skin types?
Cream blush tends to shine on dry and mature skin types thanks to its hydrating, skin-like finish. “It’s especially great for dry skin because of the moisture it provides and the dewy look it creates,” says Cade Pearlman, noting that powder formulas can sometimes emphasize dryness.
That said, it’s not off-limits for oily skin. Lila Childs explains that while cream blush works beautifully across skin types, those with oilier complexions should set it with a powder blush to keep everything in place and extend wear time.
The bottom line: cream blush delivers glow and hydration, but pairing it with powder—especially for oily skin—is the key to making it last.
